Canarda guild to help n00biesHaseo plays the role of grudging guildmaster to the self-proclaimed "n00b guild" Canard. First developed by Kuhn, later left to Silabus and Gaspard, Haseo was initially very much against joining the organization. Unfortunately for him, its members were persistent and managed to hit just the right chord between guilt-trip and oblivious acceptance. Poor Haseo had little choice than to carry Canard from a meager group of weak players into a powerful guild able to help hundreds.Haseo's own relationship with Canard changes as the games progress. Originally a source of annoyance, the determination and cheerful dispositions of its members eventually worm their way into our little broodycake's heart. It doesn't take long for Canard becomes a symbol of what The World should be: optimistic, helpful, considerate, and just plain friendly. They don't play the game out of ambition or hatred; they play it for fun. That's right, they pay for the monthly subscription to this online game -- because it's fun. What a concept, right? In actuality, Canard is just what Haseo needed to wake up to The World. He begins to wonder what would have happened if he hadn't been PKed and rescued by Ovan on his first day in the game. Would he have been cheerful and welcoming like Gaspard and Silabus? Instead of hatred and vengeance, would Haseo have played the game out of joy? Canard makes Haseo question the way he plays the game, which in turn opens him up to other possibilities and players. Silabus and Gaspard dragged Haseo kicking and screaming into the role of a normal guildmaster, but in the end, Haseo wouldn't have it any other way. |
