First, we're not even positive why a loner like Misaki Ryou decided to join The World in the first place, other than the fact that a classmate mentioned it was a fun game. Despite this Real Life connection, Haseo never makes any attempts to contact his friend inside the game, and in fact his friend may have only been acquainted with the previous version anyway. So why did Haseo join? Boredom? Just killing time? Whatever the reason, he did log in sometime in November 2016.

Haseo's day seemed to start off okay enough. Two players, IYOTEN and Asta, were there to greet him as he warped into the root town of Mac Anu. They claimed they'd like to help him out by teaching him how to play the game; surely a n00b like Haseo can benefit from their expertise?

Of course there was more to this congenial meeting than meets the eye. It turned out that IYOTEN and Asta both received e-mails from a mysterious someone informing them that a naive new player was entering The World. Deciding to serve as a Welcoming Committee -- with ulterior motives firmly in mind -- they both hurried to the Mac Anu gate to "greet" their new friend.

After completing his first field, Haseo found out that his buddies were far from actual allies. In reality, the two were PKers who planned to kill Haseo for no reason other than jollies. Too weak to fend them off, Haseo was immediately overwhelmed by both --

-- when in rushed his own prince on a white steed: the mysterious player Ovan.

Ovan defeated both PKers and revived Haseo, helping the violated player to stand on his own two feet again. However, he disappeared as easily as he first appeared, leaving Haseo alone once more.

He wandered The World pretty aimlessly for the rest of the day, encountering a few more PKers, such as the villainous Ender. He also made a few new friends, like the Mac Anu "Teddy Bear" Phyllo, a sage-like player who instructed Haseo to "read the manual!". He also met Shino, who "ironically" enough belonged to the same guild as Ovan. What a coincidence!

Of course, nothing is really a coincidence in The World, and this horrific first day was only the beginning of Haseo's journey...
