I'll find him. I'll find Tri-edge.

.hack//G.U.+ is a multi-volume manga retelling of the .hack//G.U. games. By retelling, I do mean retelling. There are more than a few major changes in the story, including Haseo's first meeting with G.U., Sakubo being one of the lost ones, and even Haseo's de-leveling -- or in this case, lack of de-leveling. However, some things do remain the same, including the battle against Endrance in the arena and Haseo's antagonistic relationship with Bordeaux.

The manga is especially notable because the game's original scriptwriter also penned G.U.+. He acknowledges the changes made, but chalks them up to "the difficulty of compressing three games into three volumes of manga" and "avoiding spoilers". The art is done by Morita Yuzuka.

The manga is now being released in the United States by the publishing company TokyoPop. Volume one was released in February 2008, with volume two scheduled to hit bookstores in June of the same year. Despite the Western audience, many instances of honorific usage are kept in the script: for example, Atoli refers to Haseo as "Haseo-san", while Sakaki tauntingly calls him "Haseo-kun".

Other Media

Haseo is also featured in a few other forms of print media. He encounters Midori in the novel .hack//CELL, stars in the .hack//G.U. novel series, and is spotted in .hack//GnU.
