SakuboI think that I, I -- I really like that about you, Haseo. Sakubo is an androgynous epitaph-PC played by a gentle eleven-year-old boy who has an imaginary twin sister in his head that often manifests herself by stalking Endrance and putting hits out in Haseo.I never said Project G.U. was comprised of sane people. The two personalities of Sakubo are markedly different from each other. Bo is a shy, sweet boy who enjoys moon-motifs and idolizing Haseo like a beloved big brother. Saku is a fiery, manipulative girl who likes suns and hating Haseo. They don't seem to have much in common, other than the fact they reside in the same mind, but like all things .hack, we learn to roll with it. Bo is perpetually sweet to Haseo and the two get along well. He's one of the first characters that Haseo shows outright friendliness to, going so far as to give him a discount on the Dusty Miller Bo so wanted to give Saku. The affection is shared: when Bo "discovers" Saku and Bordeaux's plot to PK the rogue, he is quick to put a halt to it. Likewise, when Bo is a little too close to Aina, Haseo takes the time to track him down and assure his safety. Unfortunately, relations with Saku never seem to go as smoothly. Jealous of Endrance's affection for Haseo, Saku undermined Haseo at every turn. However, after discovering the truth about Saku's existence, Haseo has the option of making it his personal goal to keep Saku from disappearing. Yes, that's right. Haseo actively fights to keep his surrogate little brother's "person inside his head" around. If that doesn't say understanding and maybe a little enabling, I don't know what does. Fittingly enough, there are two Max Affection endings for Sakubo. The one with Bo starts in Mac Anu: Bo: Oh! Hey, Haseo! Thanks for the nice e-mail!Haseo then shamelessly spoils Bo in Mac Anu. Saku's is a little different and maybe a little more "romantic", calling into question if Haseo actually remembers that she's an imaginary little girl in a little boy's head: Haseo: Saku...hey.Then they get married, but Saku ends up looking more like a flower girl, and the home audience wonders if Haseo realizes he can't get a tax break from this. |
