have you seen Tri-Edge?

The pursuit of the PKer known as Tri-Edge is the driving force behind Haseo's journey in the The World. The quest to locate and defeat the character spans Roots and a hefty portion of G.U., eventually culminating in the revelation of Tri-Edge's true identity at the end of volume 2. But let's not go there just yet, shall we?

After Shino is placed in a coma by the "Pker Tri-Edge", Haseo makes it his goal to defeat him. Part vengeance, part hope that it will wake her up in the real world, our hero lives, breathes, sleeps, and plays solely to pick a fight with the mysterious entity.

In actuality, Haseo is chasing the Vagrant A.I. known as Azure Kite. Fashioned about Project .hack's young hero Kite, Azure Kite is a formidable opponent for inhabitants of the world -- and he does suspiciously seem to be at the scene of a few dastardly crimes.

The first time Haseo clashes with Azure Kite, things don't go exactly as planned. Azure Kite is so strong that he's able to Data Drain Haseo back to level one: quite the humiliation for a player like Haseo. The next time the two meet is at the end of volume 1, when Haseo summons Skeith to fight Kite's own Avatar-like creature, the Azure Flame God. Haseo is victorious, but that's not the last we see of Azure Kite...

In reality, Azure Kite isn't Tri-Edge at all. Kite is one of the Three Azure Knights, a trio of beings created by Aura in the likeness of former .hackers Kite, Balmung, and Orca. Their purpose is to eradicate AIDA and protect Aura; it just so happens that every confrontation with them involves one of these two goals. All along he's really been following the true Tri-Edge...

...who just so happens to be someone near and dear to Haseo's heart.

Azure Kite's Max Affection Ending begins in Mac Anu:

Bikman: Tee hee~ You're finally here. You mustn't keep your date waiting. Why, I'm so tired of standing, my legs have given out.
Haseo: You?!
Bikman: Oh my~ But don't worry about me! I just came to deliver the message.
Azure Kite: Ahhhhh...
Bikman: Yes, I see~ Yes, yes. Now let me give you the message. "I've been watching you for some time."
Azure Kite: Aaaaaah...
Bikman: Whoooah~ "I want to be one with you." My, how bold.
Haseo: W-what?! Hey, stop! Calm down, back off!
Azure Kite: Aaaaaah...
Haseo: H-hey! Quit it!
Azure Kite: Gaaaaaaaaah!
Haseo: Gyaaaaah!
Bikman: Tee hee~ Isn't love beautiful? It's stimulated my creative impulses! I can feel the ideas gushing forth!

And then Azure Kite and Haseo...share a special night??
