Why?Because Cranky Heroes With Moxie RockSo why did I decide to make a Haseo shrine? There were a lot of deep, meaningful reasons involved. Examples:
I like Haseo. I pretty much liked Haseo from the minute he appeared on the scene. Yeah, a lot of people say they didn't like him until Game 3. Not so for me. I didn't always agree with the way he handled situations or put things, but that's what made him such a great character. From the beginning it was clear that he was destined to be a real hero -- he just had to complete his journey first. I don't really understand why people dislike Haseo with such passion throughout Roots and the first two G.U. games. I'll admit, if nothing else he's hilarious. But even through the grumpiness, he shows a lot of strength and determination. He never gives up, he never stops believing in himself, and he never doubts that he has what it takes. Maybe for brief moments, yes, but doubts are a part of life. The important thing is that he never let them stop him. He soared above everyone else for this very reason, and he changed them with his passion and ferocity. From the get-go, Haseo was a smart, confident character. He eventually learns that he needs people in his life, but he's never needy. He comes to realize he can't do it all on his own, but he never stops trying to do what's right. His heart is always in the right place, and beneath the fear and loneliness lies someone who truly is a good person. What's more, he's a fantastic leader. Yes, it took some time, but again, all the truly great things in life are worth the journey. However, what I love most about Haseo is his self-respect. He doesn't tolerate frauds and fools, and he doesn't let others stop him. He believes in himself, something that I feel most people today don't bother doing. I wish there were more characters like Haseo. Characters that you follow through incredible changes; characters that you sometimes want to slap and rattle and yell at, but more often then not find yourself rooting for anyway. Characters you can believe in. And that's why I made this shrine: to show my appreciation for a truly fantastic character. |
